Chimurenga meaning “struggle” in Shona is a pan African publication that showcases writing, art and ideas out of Cape Town, South Africa.

Founded and edited by Ntone Edjabe, Chimurenga appears three times a year. The publication offers a space where intellect, humanity and integrity fuse in an effort to challenge the perceptions we hold of the world.

Chimurenga Online is the free, bi-monthly online sister of the print publication, which features a series of short pieces not included between the print publication’s covers.

Wat Kyk Jy? is an Afrikaans website about 'zef' culture in South Africa. 'Zef' is a unique Afrikaans word – it’s slang for bad taste, tacky and kitsch. The site is open for contributions, but primarily it’s the musings of the founding members who tell their stories about patch leather jackets, guys in pick-up trucks listening to 2Unlimited, mullets, souped-up Ford Cortinas and Samantha Fox. The site hasn't been updated for almost a year now but it still has an astonishing amount of back issues online to get lost in.

The Litnet website started back in 1999 with a focus on Afrikaans literature. The site has since branched out and started including entertainment features on music, theatre and film. With founding editor Etienne van Heerden (a well known Afrikaans writer), the tone has always been slightly highbrow and intellectual.
